Dual-homologated Helmet Reviews
Dual homologation is a European thing – meaning it’s a European ECE approved helmet (i.e. not a DOT helmet) has been designed to protect you in more than one way – usually meaning a modular helmet that protects as both a full face helmet with the chin guard down and an open (or jet style) helmet with the guard up. In Europe, you can only legally ride with the chin bar up if it’s a dual homologated helmet – while in the US, it’s not really relevant but it might give you a bit of reassurance if you ride around in a modular with the chin bar up quite a bit.
